Sir Stirling Moss set to drive at Donington Historic Festival 5th/6th May !!

History-making Jaguar C-type and driver reunited 60 years on. Exactly 60 years after he won the 1952 Reims Grand Prix for Sports Cars, Sir Stirling Moss will take to the track in the actual C-type he took to victory.
Impressive as the win was, his 1952 victory was also the first-ever race win for a disc braked car. Stirling will be completing some demonstration laps in the car and will also be available for autograph signing. |

VFS Motor Racing Videos celebrate 25 years filming !! |
VFS Videos have entered their 25th year of filming club motorsport throughout the UK and Europe.
In the early days (the late 1980's) they started filming on 8mm format, putting their masters on Betamax. They progressed to Hi8mm mastering on Super VHS (SVHS) to the present day filming on Digital DV Cam and mastering straight onto DVD.
The website was first built in 2000 and this year they will soon have a members area were for a nominal fee members will get special offers on all DVDs purchased. Ex Richard Attwood FJ Lola Mk5A races again after 15 year rebuild !! |
Andrew Turvey finally raced his Ex Richard Attwood Lola Mk5A Formula Junuior at the HSCC "Season Opener" at Donington Park on Saturday 17th March. The cars first race for 47 years.
Starting with a bare chassis he has been working on the restoration since 1996. Turvey was also a member of the team which restored the famous Lindar-Knocker Jaguar E-type racer.
The Lola was originally owned by Midland Racing Partnership and raced by Attwood in Formula Junuior in 1963. Its last race was in 1965 racing in Formula 2 and then stood as a bare chassis with MRP's David Baker. Turvey acquired the chassis and the long process of rebuilding the car was started. |
Stanguellini emerges from Hawaiian swamp to race again after 30 years !!

After being found in a Hawaiian swap more than 30 years ago, a 1958 Formula Junior Stanguellini was racing again at Donington Park on Saturday 17th March at the HSCC "Season Opener" in the hands of Martin Sheppard.
When new the front-engined Italian car was purchased by Joe Lubin in the US and later was owned by a US serviceman in Hawaii. It was raced and crashed and then dumped in a swamp rather than have it rebuilt.
The car was believed to be in the swamp for some ten years. After a years work on the machine Sheppard raced it at Donington which was the first time the car had been on a track since 1969. |
Mike Smith wins 60th Pomeroy Trophy in his Ex-works Ford Escort !!

Mike's Escort was best GT car of the day at Silverstone on Saturday 25th February in the 60th running of the VSCC Pomeroy Trophy.
His ultra quick 1970 Ex-works Escort out pointed 2010 winner Dudley Sterry in his 1939 HRS Sports. Sterry took the Densham Trophy for the best placed Pre-war car. Vintage Sports Car Club PR Manager Gillian Carr took the Edwardian Trophy driving Alisdaire Lockhart's 1914/18 Vauxhall A/D Type. |
