VFS Videos to offer customers video downloads !!

VFS Videos will shortly be offering video downloads to their customers. Once paid for, customers will be able to download videos straight off the VFS Videos website onto their mobile phone or laptop saving considerable time. Customers who still wish to receive their DVDs in a case with coloured insert through the post can still do so.

STOP PRESS!! Exciting news about Walter Hayes Trophy.

After our first successful venture into motorsport sponsorship, helping James Beckett to get Dave Coyne in the Souley Racing Swift SC92F in the Walter Hayes Trophy 2011, for this year's event VFS Motor Racing Videos will be sponsoring not one but two cars for this FF1600 Kent Engined blue ribbon event.

We will give more details of cars and drivers when all is in place... SO WATCH THIS SPACE!!!

Walter Hayes Trophy to stage Bernard Baxter Race !!

New for this year the Walter Hayes Trophy will be staging a seperate 'Final' for competitors taking part in Pre'82 Formula Ford cars, called 'The Bernard Baxter Race'.

The top 36 Pre 82 cars, not automatically qualified for the Grand Final after the semi-finals, will have the chance to race in their own shoot-out. This is certainly a prize that will appeal to many classic and historic racers.

Scottish FF1600 ace to return to Walter Hayes Trophy !!

Scottish single seater racer Graham Carroll is planning a return to the 2012 Walter Hayes Trophy. Carroll last raced in the event in 2008 when he spun out while leading the final having won both the National and North West FF1600 titles that season.

He recently purchased the ex-Martin Cowburn/Mike Gardener Van Dieman RF90 and reignited his racing career by winning a round of the BRSCC Northern FF1600 Championship at Oulton Park in mid August.

The VSCC celebrates 21 years at Mallory Park !!

ERA R3A, the first 2 litre ERA, is the guest of honour at the VSCC's Bob Gerard Memorial Trophy Race Meeting on Sunday 24 June when the Club celebrate their 21st visit in succession to the Leicestershire circuit. The VSCC held its first Mallory Park Race Meeting on 7 July 1991 and has held an annual event there ever since as part of its extensive programme of competitions.

ERA R3A has not raced at Mallory Park for many years, certainly not in the hands of current owner, Mrs Mary Smith and pilot, Mark Gillies, who is flying in from the United States to race in the feature race of the day.

Rare RGS Atalanta to race again !!

Having not raced for ten years a rare RGS Atalanta sports car is returning to the tracks after a complete rebuild. The car which will be piloted by its new owner Neil Perkins was raced in the 1990's by the late Peter Wardle after being found in a barn near Snetterton.

The car was constructed by Dick Shattock who used his initials to name the car, one of nine cars built but the sole car to use MGA power. Perkins plans to race the car, one of only two Atalantas known to be running competitively, with the AMOC and HGPCA.

Sir Stirling Moss to drive at Donington Historic Festival !!

History-making Jaguar C-type and driver reunited 60 years on.
Exactly 60 years after he won the 1952 Reims Grand Prix for Sports Cars, Sir Stirling Moss will take to the track in the actual C-type he took to victory. Impressive as the win was, his 1952 victory was also the first-ever race win for a disc braked car. Stirling will be completing some demonstration laps in the car and will also be available for autograph signing.

VFS Motor Racing Videos celebrate 25 years filming !!

VFS Videos have entered their 25th year of filming club motorsport throughout the UK and Europe. In the early days (the late 1980's) they started filming on 8mm format, putting their masters on Betamax. They progressed to Hi8mm mastering on Super VHS (SVHS) to the present day filming on Digital DV Cam and mastering straight onto DVD.

The website was first built in 2000 and this year they will soon have a members area were for a nominal fee members will get special offers on all DVDs purchased. VFS thank all circuit owners, club officials, photographers and competitors for their help over the years.

Ex Richard Attwood FJ Lola Mk5A races again !!

Andrew Turvey finally raced his Ex Richard Attwood Lola Mk5A Formula Junuior at the HSCC "Season Opener" at Donington Park on Saturday 17th March. The cars first race for 47 years. Starting with a bare chassis he has been working on the restoration since 1996. Turvey was also a member of the team which restored the famous Lindar-Knocker Jaguar E-type racer.

The Lola was originally owned by Midland Racing Partnership and raced by Attwood in Formula Junuior in 1963. Its last race was in 1965 racing in Formula 2 and then stood as a bare chassis with MRP's David Baker. Turvey acquired the chassis and the long process of rebuilding the car was started.

Stanguellini emerges from Hawaiian swamp to race !!

After being found in a Hawaiian swap more than 30 years ago, a 1958 Formula Junior Stanguellini was racing again at Donington Park on Saturday 17th March at the HSCC "Season Opener" in the hands of Martin Sheppard.

When new the front-engined Italian car was purchased by Joe Lubin in the US and later was owned by a US serviceman in Hawaii. It was raced and crashed and then dumped in a swamp rather than have it rebuilt. The car was believed to be in the swamp for some ten years. After a years work on the machine Sheppard raced it at Donington which was the first time the car had been on a track since 1969.

Mike Smith wins 60th Pomeroy Trophy !!

Mike's Escort was best GT car of the day at Silverstone on Saturday 25th February in the 60th running of the VSCC Pomeroy Trophy. His ultra quick 1970 Ex-works Escort out pointed 2010 winner Dudley Sterry in his 1939 HRS Sports. Sterry took the Densham Trophy for the best placed Pre-war car. Vintage Sports Car Club PR Manager Gillian Carr took the Edwardian Trophy driving Alisdaire Lockhart's 1914/18 Vauxhall A/D Type.

1980's FF1600 star Rick Shortle planning return !!

Rick was a regular winner in the Champion of Brands Formula Ford 1600 race series. Rick, now 62, a regular spectator at the Formula Ford Festival saw the likes of Rick Morris and Dave Coyne and decided to set up a test with Getem Racing the team that used to run him. Testing a Getem Racing Mygale SJ06 recently at the Kent track Rick expressed how impressed he was with a Duratec-powered slick shod single seater. "Rick said "The speed and grip of the car are just amazing". Rick has some more tests lined up and will then look at entering some races at Brands.

Masters Historic Racing to put on Can-Am/Interserie !!

Master Historic Racing and the Canadian American Challenge Cup are getting together to promote a four round series for Can-Am and Interserie cars.
The series to be called the Can-Am Intererie Challenge will cater for sports prototypes from 1971 to 1978 plus Can-Am cars raced between 1966 and 1974. Races are to be run at Barcelona (Apr 21/22); Brands Hatch (May 26/27; Spa Francorchamps (Sept 21-23) and Donington Park (Oct 13/14):
