Sue Sheridan of Men & Motors fame has kindly said she would help VFS out with Formula Junior driver interviews at the Oulton Park "GOLD CUP" meeting on August Bank Holiday. Sue who has appeared on Men & Motors in the past doing the Rally programme 'Out of Control 2' will be conducting interviews of the drivers taking part at the two Formula Junior races scheduled to take place at the track in Cheshire, for VFS's FJHRA 50th Anniversary Video ! The FJHRA Formula Junior 'Junior' race due to take place at Mallory Park on Monday 26th May has had to be cancelled due to a lack of entries. The next round is Rockingham on Saturday 7th June again the meeting is organised by the Classic Sports Car Club. |

BBC commentator John Bolster's special 'Bloody Mary' is set for return to Prescott in May after more than 40 years since it last took park in any kind of competition. The late John Bolster and his brother built the car back in 1929. The car which will also appear at Shelsley Walsh on the weekend of May31/June 1 will take centrepiece at the Prescott Marshal's Club 50th anniversary meeting at Gloucestershire hillclimb venue. |

The Masters Festival Meeting at Brands Hatch on May Bank Holiday weekend 25th/26th will also include celebrations of Lola's 50th Birthday. A total of 35 Lola Mk1's were built close to Brands Hatch at Rob Rushbrook's garage at Bromley before Lola moved production to Huntingdon. Lola will be sponsoring two rounds of the World Sportscar Masters series on the GP circuit during the meeting of which a number of Lolas will be taking part. The Lola Mk1 which used the 1100cc Coventry Climax engine was the first sportscar to lap the circuit in less than a minute. |

The new organisers of the Silverstone Classic meeting are aiming to find as many cars as possible that formed the grid for the 1948 British GP. The idea is to have a demonstration of the cars during the classic racing festival and if anyone can help with the search, they should contact the HSCC office on 01327 858400. |

The bosses of Pembrey have begun a courtroom battle with council officials after complaints were made by local residents. The notice was imposed more than 12 months ago. Dennis Carter of the BARC, who operate the track said the preliminary hearing took place in a court in Llanelli on Monday 25th February, but the case could take several months before a conclusion is reached. |

The CSCC will make its first visit to Castle Combe later this year when races for Future Classics and Swinging 60's form part of the programme of support races at the Formula Ford Carnival on Saturday 4th October. |

A rare F2 Brabham BT38 which was driven by Chris Meek in the early 1970's is being rebult by Formula Junior racer Michael Hibberd. If the rebuild goes to plan Michael hopes to race the machine towards the end of 2008. It will be the first time Micheal has raced slicks and wings and he hopes to do some Derek Bell Trophy outings before embarking on some European F2 rounds. |

The Lotus on Track Elise Trophy 2008 has nearly 50 entrants with still four months before the opening round of the series. The series which was introduced in 2007 has proved so popular that the organisers are planning to split the series into two separate grids, one for modified cars and one for production cars. To keep the costs down the series will still be run without championship status in 2008. |

Essex-based specialist race car preparators Graham Hathaway Racing (GHR) will launch the new Speads RM08 single-seater race car at the Autosport International show at NEC Birmingham in January (on stand CP7 in Hall 10). The RM08 will be the first car launched at the show when it opens at 09.00 on Thursday 10 January 2008. |

Saturday December 8th 2007 !! Westfield Sportscars is to launch its new AeroRace model at the London Motorsport Show on Saturday. The AreoRace is designed to race in the BARC Westfield Sportscar Championship. The car features a 2-litre Ford Zetec Engine with lightweight bodywork. Simon Westwood of Westfield believes the car will be ideal for kart graduates. |

A new Formula Junior race series is being considered for next season to cater for over-subscribed grids. At the moment priory is given to competitors who have scored points in champioship races and many drivers who join the champioship mid way through the season don't get to race. Duncan Rabagliati the competition secretary said "The 'Junior' championship will work in the reverse, with drivers with no points getting priorty". |

in the 2008 HSCC 70's Roadsports Championship !! Ian Jacobs is set to return to the HSCC 1970's Roadsports Championship in 2008. He plans to race a Jensen Healey in the Production Sports Car Championship which he finished second in, in a similar car, back in 1983. |

The Monoposto Racing Club will join the Classic Sports Car Club in 2008 in a deal which will see the Formula Free series incorporated into the Monoposto Championship. Formula Free racers will be able to enter existing classes of the Monoposto Championship and the new "Mono Classic Class" for Thoroughbred F3 cars. The Classic Sports Car Club will host eleven rounds of the Monoposto Championship in 2008 which will be its 50th year. |

John Burton has been confirmed as Orwell Supersports Cup Champion for 2007. This is the second time in four seasons that the Worcestershire veteran has claimed the title in his Chevron B26. John who last won the championship in 2004 was just seven points clear of John Grant in his McLaren M8C/D after fourteen rounds across Europe. |

The British Racing Drivers Club Golden Helmet FF1600 shoot-out is set to move to Anglesey for 2008. The prestigious event has taken place at Silverstone, England (2005), Kirkistown, Ireland (2006) and Knockhill, Scotland (2007). BRDC assistant secretary James Beckett, who is behind the event, revealed the plans for the venue last week. |

Tasman Cup Revival Series !! Chris Hyde dominated the opening weekend of the Tasman Cup Revival Series at Manfield, New Zealand. Hyde driving a McRae GM1 won all three races from a field of 15 cars. |
